President and Project Developer, Sweeney Design Remodel
A learned craftsman from as early as 9 years old, Tim worked alongside his father, Herb Sweeney, who started the Sweeney business in 1954. Profoundly shaped by his father’s influence, Tim learned more than just quality construction. He adopted his father’s gift of gab and easy laugh, putting people immediately at ease.
Steeped in values, Tim contributes more to the world than he takes out. It is “his way” to tell the unvarnished truth, to help homeowners make important remodeling decisions. It is also “his way” to forge long-lasting, trusting relationships with people by imparting his wisdom—years of knowledge and experience in the industry—and taking responsibility for his own actions or mistakes.
“Nothing is more rewarding than evolving with families, returning to client homes months or years later to plan a new remodeling project.”
It is Tim’s genuine care and interest in people that make him a successful leader, one who inspires and motivates diverse teams of people with distinct personalities and skill sets. He has an uncanny ability to recruit and develop the right teams, fostering innovation, effective communication and quality engineering.
Tim’s unwavering dedication to community programs such as the Healing House, Porch Light, and Hammer with a Heart, have earned him deserved recognition from a multitude of honors including the National Association of the Remodeling Industry Fritz Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, the NARI Image Award, and Contractor of the Year on multiple projects.
Tim married his high school sweetheart, Linda, who is now also his esteemed business partner. Married nearly 40 years, together they have two grown children, Chris and Kelsey. An avid outdoors man, Tim enjoys a variety of hobbies, including running, backpacking, traveling, planting trees, riding his Harley, and snowshoeing in the parks surrounding Madison, Wisconsin.
