Design and Project Development Process
Stage 1—Pre-Design
Your remodeling experience with Sweeney begins with an initial 30-minute phone call where we talk openly about your needs, challenges with your space, budgetary requirements, and hopeful timeline. Following the 30-minute phone call, we schedule a site visit, in your home, where we delve deeper into your needs and project scope. You, in turn, receive a Comparative Remodeling Analysis (CRA) that provides you with the assurance of a realistic breakdown of budgetary items that will go into your remodel based on historical data. Upon agreement of this realistic scope of work and rough budget estimate, we enter into a design agreement, and proceed accordingly.

Stage 2—Design Development
Guiding you through the design process is where the fun begins. Starting with on-site field research of your home’s existing condition, and receiving your completed survey responses, we take photographs and measurements and deliver your first set of conceptual drawings. It is at this time that our subcontractors/vendors also walk through your home providing their individual input on your design plans and selections. Unique to Sweeney, this allows you the assurance of a working with a deep team of specialists who offer their expertise on your project right from the beginning—collaborating on issues and providing creative input on your project so as to prevent future surprises, unexpected delays and budget overruns.
As part of the design phase, you work closely with our design team and are guided through a selection process to identify finishes that fit your functional needs, design style and budget.
Stage 3—Preconstruction
Upon approval of your detailed plans and specifications, Sweeney starts the permitting process, orders your materials and schedules your project to start. During this time, you will be walked through a list of pre-construction details (what to expect) and introduced to your Project Manager and Lead Carpenter.

Stage 4—Construction
Work begins on your home remodeling project. Your Project Manager becomes your saving grace, keeping you informed in all aspects of your remodel, and acting as a liaison between field staff, subcontractors, and internal staff. During this time, your Project Manager remains your main point of contact and ensures no detail is overlooked—from project start to the final walk-through of your punch list items.
And, your project doesn’t end there. We take pride in our workmanship and are committed to delivering the best possible remodeling experience possible, standing by our product and backing our work with an extended two-year warranty.
