Kevin Collum

Project Developer

Kevin joined Sweeney Design Remodel the fall of 2025 as Project Developer. With his lifelong commitment to the trades combined with an investment in continuing education, Kevin looks forward to contributing to the Sweeney Team and getting to know their new and repeat clients. 

Kevin’s work experience has provided him with opportunities to develop strong, collaborative relationships with clients, starting as a carpenter assistant, lead carpenter, production manager and, for the past 7 years, project developer. This has culminated in a project development process that is nurturing, sincere, well informed and grounded on a path of clarity and direction for his clients.

Over the years, Kevin has supported his interest through multiple different avenues of education. Graduating from St. Norbert College with a BA in History and Art History, Kevin had considered becoming a high school teacher. Missing the tangible and hands-on reward of being a builder, Kevin returned to school, this time at MATC for a technical diploma in Construction and Remodeling. As Kevin grew as a carpenter, he carried his love for history and art over into the trades through an appreciation and recognition of historic houses.  He still loves the challenge of designing new spaces that complements and harmonizes with the spirit and aesthetic of the original home.  

When not at work, and sometimes while at work, Kevin and his wife celebrate their two wonderful kids.  As their little family started getting bigger, their cozy home started getting smaller, so, as a family, they all joined in on their own remodel and tripled the size of their home.  Everyone now has their own bedroom, a shared rec room and the luxury of a 2nd bathroom.  

On the weekends, Kevin likes to play guitar and learn new songs.  He also loves to go camping and canoeing and going for walks with his wife.  When time allows, nights are capped off with a game of scrabble.
